In October 2016, I launched Cookies by Kate. After years of refining my decorating skills, I decided it was time to turn my passion into a business. I continued to work at my full-time job as a computer programmer and spent lots of evenings and weekend hours at the shared commercial kitchen where we are licensed baking, decorating, and packaging cookies.

The first year of Cookies by Kate was a huge success! We made thousands of fun cookies for all kinds of events: weddings, baby showers, birthdays, corporate events and so much more.

June of 2018 our family expanded and I gave birth to our beautiful little girl. I took some time away from Cookies by Kate just before and after her birth. The time spent with my little one made me realize how important it was to cherish those moments! In August 2018, I decided that I was no longer going to take on cookie orders.

So what do I offer?

While I am no longer taking on cookie orders, I now offer cookie decorating classes and parties. Visit our FAQ page to learn more!

Owner, Cookie Artist
Computer programmer by day, cookie artist by night. I am an Illinois native now living in, and loving, Wisconsin. I came to Madison in 2007 as an eager, young freshman at UW-Madison. I quickly fell in love with Madison (and the Badgers) so it was an easy decision to stay and build a life here after graduating college. For as long as I can remember, I have loved all things art: coloring, painting, textiles, sculpture. Only in the last few years have I taken my love of art to an edible format, and I can’t think of a more fun and delicious way to express my creativity!
